Bruises who doesn't love that feeling when you have something constantly sitting on your leg.
Or arms, I'm not judging.
For those of you that don't know what a bruise is.
By medical definition it is:
an injury appearing as an area of discolored skin on the body, caused by a blow or impact rupturing underlying blood vessels.
It's basically when your blood vessel is rupture around cut, the blood cannot get out unless there's an opening for it to pool out of. So it's trapped there cause a discoloureed area to appear on your knee or leg or where ever.
Reduce Bruising and Swelling
- Ice the area on and off for the first 24-48 hours.
- Apply ice for about 15 minutes at a time, and always put something like a towel or wash cloth between the ice and your skin.
- Rest the affected area.
- If possible, elevate the affected area.
When to Call a Doctor
- If bruise is accompanied by extreme pain, swelling or redness
- If the person is taking a blood-thinning medication
- If bruises appear on skin for no apparent reason
- The bruise in on the face or head
- You can’t move a joint
- You may have a broken bone
