Higurashi No Naku  Kori Ni

Today on The AMR
We're doing areview of one of my most favorite horror animes ever!
Higurashi!!
UGH!!The english dub killed my favorite TT__TT

I wouldn't recommend the anime to everyone because of the blood and gore, but hey it's one of the only animes that actually creeped me out pretty badly.

Ze Good:The reason I love Japanese horror is because they don't rely on random jump scares and high pitch noises to scare people, no they instead focus on atmosphere and suspense. I love this because it's more rare but really effective. The story centers around a boy named Keiichi Maebara into this old and rather small, isolated town Hinamizawa. There he joins a club and form many friendships with his club members, he slowly starts leaning that his friends may not be as friendly as they seem. The story is very eerie and the character are very well developed. I love the soundtrack and the eerie feeling in each one. The voice acting is also amazing and each character can be easy to spot. The story is split into different arcs and each arc has a question arc and an answer arc, basically you as the viewer, are playing detective and trying to solve the mysteries in this town

Ze Bad: The animation in Higurashi is probably one of the more weaker points, but this also has an up side to it, for a low quality animation the eerie moments and more intense scenes give an extra boost because the animators were trying to focus more on the intense moments but I still love everything. The setting is more blended in and it fits the village theme because the colour pallet and buildings are rather detailed and that fits a very old village but it is easy to miss. The English dub to the anime pretty much ruined it for me so I highly recommend that you watch it English Sub.

Overall: You should also see the second season since it fills in all the plot holes left behind the first season.
I also recommend Another and Mirai Nikki as horror anime, but Mirai Nikki focuses more on time and psychological stuff

Sword art Online

Today on The AMR
We're doing an anime review of:
Sword art online!
About a group of gamers trapped in the gaming world where they must conquer all 100 hundred levels in order to be free!

Now did I like like sword art online?
mmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........
That answer your question

Ze Bads:
To be honest I thought the show was kinda crappy.
With the many time skips like they're trapped in a time machine going full beserk and the completely obliterated character development,I was pretty annoyed. Not to mention there are enough stereotypes to fill up the Titanic and bad writing. Not to mention the second half literally just completely demolished all the original plot devices and became just a big waste of money and brain tumours! The characters are so undeveloped that through out all the 25 episodes all I knew from Kirito AKA our main protagonist is that he's some kind of hard core because he wears black clothes!Wow...there is so much development right? The second totally disregards the original gaming rules and just leaves you with a bad action fantasy anime

ZE Goods:
Now the amazing art and smooth animation really was an amazing touch to the anime.
The soundtrack was bloody amazing!Even if the choir is singing about gaming snacks like coffee and pasta.Even with these problems I was never once bored because it was interesting how they made gaming materials like summons and spells effect our everyday life!

Overall:
Drumroll please*drum roll XD*

This show deserves a ...
5.5 out of 10 swords!
